Since I'm home visiting my folks for the holidays, I'm not going to be able to make it back into the studio again until January, so I have a lot of time now to think about what my plans are for the projects I want to do in the new year and the stuff I want to learn how to do. I think I really want to keep working with glaze making, which I just started doing recently for the first time, since I'm having so much fun with it. I'm currently working on making this really cool blue glaze I found on glaze.org called frosty blue. I haven't actually gotten mine to work yet, but I'm only on take 3 so, we'll see I guess.

these are the test tiles from the original artist Jake Corboy's site that I'm trying to get to:

and these two are my current (latest) test tiles:

so you can see that I have a ways to go lol. I'm wondering if I need to change the firing cycle again, or if I need to switch which whiting I used.

one of the other things I know I want to be able to do in the studio by the end of next year is throw decent plates, and make some plates to go with my planter cups. I'd also like to make some vessels with lids again; I haven't tried that since hs, and my old attempts don't quite fit together right. I am excited and hopeful for the artistic advances I can and will make in the coming year. I'll try to keep the web & friends updated on my art adventures in the coming year via all of my usual accounts. If people want to talk pottery and art with me, I'd be psyched lol
